HOKKAIDO, JAPAN – c. 2018: Explorations by bicycle

Bicycles have been my chosen vehicle to experience the world ever since I met a Canadian cyclist named John in the Redwoods of Northern California. When I first saw him, I had the kind of ache in my legs you get from walking between towns carrying supplies on foot. I was instantly envious of the carefree approach with which the bike afforded him. After leaving California, I knew I had to trade in my boots for cleats. The following images are from travels throughout Hokkaido by bicycle.
